Quiet River Counseling
Forge a New Path

Lindsay Millard,
MSW, LISW, YTT-200
Founder of Quiet River Counseling, LLC
Throughout my graduate career and post clinical work, I have predominantly focused on understanding the impacts that trauma and stress may have on our mental and physical well being. This includes managing life's daily struggles or work/life balance, but also more significant events such as grief and loss, chronic health issues, divorce, job changes, relationship issues, abuse and adverse childhood experiences.
I have extensive training in a variety of therapeutic models including EMDR and Internal Family Systems, Mindfulness, CBT, DBT and Wilderness Therapy. I am also a Certified Yoga Teacher and Somatic Breathwork Practitioner greatly valuing a holistic approach to wellness. Along with providing traditional office and telehealth sessions, I can offer Walk & Talk therapy where we disconnect from all things digital and get outside for our sessions.
I seek to provide a supportive and empowering environment, free of judgement and shame so that you can connect and grow, reaching the desired goals you may have for your life. I am experienced and skilled in working with diverse populations, those struggling with depression, addiction, OCD and anxiety, trauma, relationship issues, reproductive issues, and foster and adoptive parents. I work with people of all ages and walks of life — from teens figuring out who they are, to parents in the thick of raising kids, to adults navigating major life transitions, grief, anxiety, fertility, and perinatal and maternal mental health. I meet every client where they are, without judgment, and believe that therapy works best when it feels like a genuine partnership.
My approach is CBT-informed and rooted in the belief that the mind and body are deeply connected — but I don’t believe one size fits all. I tailor my approach to what each person actually needs, because the most effective therapy is the kind that fits you, not a template. Alongside traditional office and telehealth sessions, I offer Walk &Talk therapy, because I believe that getting outside and moving your body can be just as healing as sitting across from someone in an office.
As a breast cancer survivor and mother of five, I know firsthand that life’s hardest moments have a way of shaping us in ways we never expected. I don’t believe we go through difficult things for nothing — and I am passionate about helping people find the growth and meaning that can come from even the most painful seasons. My goal is to create a space where you feel safe enough to be honest, supported enough to do the hard
work, and hopeful about what is possible on the other side of it.
